Très grande joie de retrouver ces talentueux musiciens habitués des scènes belges en duo, dans un répertoire intime et audacieux. Ce « Mad Lover », cet amant inconsolé dont Théotime Langlois de Swarte et Thomas Dunford nous content l’histoire, est la figure évoquée par tous les violonistes gravitant autour de Charles II, dans le sillage du prodigieux Nicola Matteis. Les tournures envoûtantes de ce discours amoureux, renouvelé par l’exubérance et la liberté de ces musiciens venus d’Italie, résonnent jusque dans la musique populaire d’aujourd’hui.
What a pleasure to see these talented musicians again, musicians who perform regularly in Belgium as a duo, in an intimate and audacious repertoire. This ‘Mad Lover’, this inconsolable lover whose story is told by Théotime Langlois de Swarte and Thomas Dunford, is a figure based on all the violinists who gravitated around Charles II, inspired by the prodigious Nicola Matteis. The beguiling turns of this amorous discourse, heightened by the exuberance and inventiveness of these musicians from Italy, continue to echo in the popular music of our time.
