Baroque music abounds in bestiaries of all kinds. Pastoral scenes and other evocations of Arcadian worlds were among the most popular subjects in works from the 17th and 18th centuries. Here, country life is magnified through the prism of nature's bounty. Rodrigo Calveyra, flutist with Cappella Mediterranea, has devised an original programme that invites us to take a stroll and listen to birdsong and brook songs. Four musicians from the ensemble join soprano Gwendoline Blondeel for an intimate concert. A breath of fresh air right in the middle of the festival season.
