A man of mystery and a master illuminator by trade, short in stature and afflicted with disabilities, Antonio Zacara da Teramo left us some of the most marvellous, innovative and bizarre songs of the late Middle Ages. Ensemble Leones presents the compositions and texts of ‘mad’ songs by an influential composer of the Trecento (the teacher of Johannes Tinctoris and a friend to the popes) who has only been rediscovered in recent years.
