French instrumental pieces of the eighteenth century were often named after myths or mythological figures. The repertoire of this recital focuses on works that tell a story inspired by these legends (Medea, the Cyclops, the Muses, etc.). The range of composers extends from the golden age of the French harpsichord to its swan song: from Couperin to Duphly via Dandrieu. As an undisputed master and undeniable poet of his instrument, Bertrand Cuiller offers an idyllic panorama of this ‘programme music’.
