Beethoven, the initiator of Romanticism in music, breathes tremendous energy into works that represent milestones in the expression of a generous, conquering spirit. Faced with such a monument, Schubert set himself the huge challenge of injecting his own genius into the symphonic universe dominated at the time by his eminent colleague. All in all, a wonderful evening rich in sensations, performed by some remarkable soloists.
