More information

The programme proposed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir explicitly portrays the invigorating landscapes of the North and the reserved nature of its inhabitants. It combines the music of Arvo Pärt, the most performed living composer for the sixth consecutive year, with that of Veljo Tormis, which feeds on the tradition of Estonian folk music and on the Romantic choral music of the Finnish national composer, Jean Sibelius.

  • Arvo Pärt: Solfeggio
  • Erkki-Sven Tüür: Missa brevis
  • Arvo Pärt: Nunc dimittis Veljo Tormis: Tower Bell of My Village
  • Jean Sibelius: Sydameni laulu / Song Of My Heart (No. 6 in the series 6 Partsongs, Op. 18)
  • Jean Sibelius: Rakastava / Beloved
  • Jean Sibelius: Saarella Palaa / Fire On the Island (No. 4 in the series 6 Partsongs, Op. 18)
  • Veljo Tormis: Raua needmine / Curse Upon Iron
